- Abstract
- This blog highlights and further develops some of the main points of criticism on the EU-ban on some Russian state media, as we formulated earlier in an article in De Juristenkrant, a bi-weekly legal journal in Flanders, Belgium (Dirk Voorhoof, ‘EU legt Russia Today en Sputnik het zwijgen op: twee maten en twee gewichten’, De Juristenkrant 2022/448, 16-17). The criticism focusses on the problematic relation between the EU-ban on Russian state media and the right to freedom of expression and media freedom as protected under Article 10 ECHR and Article 11 of the EU Charter on Fundamental Rights.
