Towards a strengths-based focus in the criminal justice system for drug-using offenders

Abstract
In this chapter the authors advocate for an increased focus on holistic, desistance- and recovery-oriented practices in the criminal justice system for dealing with drug-using offenders. They argue for looking beyond the offenders’ risks and focusing on individual and community empowerment.
