A thematic exploration of strong emotional appeals based on evolutionary psychology

Author
Organization
Abstract
Emotional appeals in advertising can attract attention and influence brand attitude, purchase intention and buying behavior (e.g. Alonso and Santos 2017; Faseur et al. 2015; Geuens et al. 2011; Panda et al. 2013; Taute et al. 2011; Williams 2012). There is, however, no research yet that presents a theoretically based and empirically tested overview of possible strong emotional appeals based on their content.
