Votron, ex-CEO van Fortis, geeft nu onderwijs

Abstract
Votron was CEO of the fusion bank Fortis-ABN Amro. At the start of the banking- and credit crisis he was forced to leave. Later he was invited by Cambridge University (UK) as lecturer. In an interview he argues he had no bad intentions towards clients and investors. But he recognizes that he overestimated the endless growth of the economy, and gave little attention to shareholders and controls.. This article also mentions the fate of other leading persons of the bank, after it was split by the governments of Belgium and The Netherlands; banking activities were sold to the French bank BNP Paribas. Personalities in the banking sector often use the revolving door: they move to other powerful positions, as Luyendijk showed.
