Abstract
The archive of the gala.mah Ur-Utu contains two letters which have been written by Utu-sumundib and Ibni-Adad, who can be identified as the respective overseers of the merchants of the twin cities of Sippar; a third one was written by Utu-sumundib alone. In these letters, they interfere with the chief lamentation priest's tax deliveries of barley to the fatteners of the nakkamtum of Sippar-Amnanum. The two overseers appear to have worked in close cooperation with each other and to have acted by the king's order. There is the petite histoire as well. By combining different letters from the archive, a hypothetical reconstruction is made of a slice of the life of the chief lamentation priest of Annunitum.
