Abstract
Philosopher Beeckman argues that "the progressives" promote diversity as an ideology; she refers to the ethnic origin and religious differences. She sees undue respect for anti-darwinists endangering science, and fighting students in Berkeley who silence invited speakers. I explain that in the Flanders region other diversities are prominent: catholic traditions are dominant: in schools, health services, youth-, labourers-, labour-, and cultural organisations, and access to public broadcasts. Humanists/atheists are a minority, but non-religious lessons of morals in schools (12-13% of pupils) are protected by the Constitution. Contraception, abortion, euthanasia were legally possible through recognition of the diversity of opinions. The largest diversity that I see is between income classes, and the divergence of education, jobs, and health risks that come with it.
