Free-standing SU-8 optical waveguides for dense photonic integration

Abstract
Suspended polymeric waveguides of small footprint suitable for dense photonic integrated circuits were developed and evaluated. Low propagation and bending losses at 1550 nm reported. The waveguides are suitable for telecommunications applications.
