LCOS devices for professional projection displays

Abstract
This paper reviews the development of LCOS devices towards high performance light valves for high resolution image sources. A number of backplane design and cell assembly issues related to high performance imager devices will be discussed. The use of QXGA LCOS imagers in professional displays will be illustrated.
