Abstract
Complexes of (eta(6)-arene)ruthenium bearing the carbene ligand 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene (IMes) and 1,3-bis(2, 6-diisopropylphenyl)-imidazol-2-ylidene (IPr) Ru(IMes)(Cl)(2)(eta(6)-arene), Ru-(IPr)(Cl)(2)(eta(6)-arene), and [Ru-C=C=CPh2(IMes)(Cl)(eta(6)-arene)]PF6 were prepared and found to be efficient catalyst precursors for ring closing olefin metathesis.
