The Competences of the Parent Company and the Network Embeddedness of the Subsidiary

Abstract
The MNC is a complex network and the subsidiary of the MNC is embedded in a formal network including the internal and external network. The network embeddedness is one of the important factors determining the success of the MNC and the informal network embeddedness of the subsidiary is introduced in the MNC network. To examine the influence to the network embeddedness of the subsidiary, the competences of the parent company are studied. Transnational experience, brand and reputation, and technological innovation of the parent are positively and significantly related to the internal network embeddedness of the subsidiary. And technological innovation is significantly and positively associated with the external and informal network embeddedness of the subsidiary.
