Abstract
Media representations of incivilities could include the inspection of the possible influence of newspaper ownership on the content of the press as well as include other media such as television and digital and social media which are an increasingly popular platform for sharing and receiving information. In the light of the existing research concerning media influences and the widespread phenomenon of populist politics, media representations have a significant political dimension to them. In contrast to our British study, Di Ronco noticed no significant difference between the Flemish broadsheets and popular press in terms of its content for example, in reasons or solutions proposed. British press clearly focuses on behaviour the term anti-social is mostly linked to behaviour of people or social disorder the top three incivilities in the Flemish press, as they came out in the study by Di Ronco, are related to physical disorder, namely noise, illegal dumping and littering.
