General-class of flat-response band pass filters

Abstract
The poles of the general class of rational band pass filters with flat magnitude response are calculated for arbitrary given zeros. Besides the well-known Butterworth filters, a large group of transfer functions can be obtained that leads to more suitable filters for specific problems, for instance if strong interfering signals on specified frequencies are to be suppressed. Furthermore a condition on the zero positions is derived such that the magnitude characteristic is symmetric on a linear frequency scale. This can be advantageous if modulated signals with symmetric side bands are to be treated. Two special cases are given and illustrated by an example.
Die Parameter einer Gruppe von flachen Bandpässen mit allen Nullstellen bei s = 0 und s = oo werden berechnet. Man erhält nicht nur die bekannten Butterworth-Filter sondern auch andere flache Bandpäisse, wobei die Dämpfung im oberen Sperrband grosser ist. Es wird auf ein Berechnungsverfahren für die Pole solcher Filter mit festgelegtem Durchlassbereich eingegangen.
