Abstract
Greed is often defined as an excessive insatiable desire to acquire or possess more. Throughout its history, the term is been used to denote a morally culpable attitude. Also in academic research greed is often defined as a self-interested desire for gain at the expense of others. In current ongoing research we demonstrate that dispositional greed is driven by resource insecurity. When resource access is insecure, this leads to both acquisitive behavior and positive effects for others in certain circumstances. Furthermore we show that when resource access is secure, there is no behavioral difference between greedy and non-greedy people.
Keywords
