Abstract
Roundworm, Trichuris trichiura (whipworm) and Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus (hookworms) pose the highest burden of all neglected tropical diseases. They affect the most socio-economically deprived populations in both subtropical and tropical countries, children and women at the highest risk of morbidity caused by these worms. To fight these worms mass drug administration (MDA) programmes are implemented. The overall objective of this PhD-dissertation was to improve the control of STH in school children in Jimma Town, Ethiopia.
