De psychische gezondheid van leerlingen op school : een noodzaak binnen de lerarenopleiding?

Abstract
Prevalence rates show an increase in behavioural and emotional problems in children and adolescents. Because of the daily contacts with their students, teachers are ideally placed to detect these mental health problems within their students. Despite the need teachers themselves express to learn more about this subject, and despite the explicit requirements that the Flemish government has specified in the teacher competence profile, the current teacher training curriculum all too often fails to deal with the subject satisfactorily. This article proposes to address this need by means of a web-based learning platform.
