Marianne Thyssen wil bankentoezicht door bankiers

Abstract
A proposal by the European Commission, presented to the European Parliament, has been approved by the Economic Commission.It institutes the supervision of banks in the Union to a body inside the European Central Bank.The latter has as major and sole mission the containment of inflation;employment, economic growth and loans to governments are outside its competence.Members of parliament will have an oversight on the banking control by the ECB,but altogether this control is outsourced to bankers and financial experts who are independent of Parliament.
