Analyse de la diglossie Français-Lingála dans les écoles de Kinshasa

abstract
A qualitative study encompassing sociolinguistics and didactics, our research aims to describe and interpret the situation of diglossia in primary and secondary schools, as well as in universities in the city of Kinshasa. We investigated the role of diglossia in teaching strategies where French is the written language (course notes) and Lingála is the oral language (the explanations of those course notes). We have based our analysis on semi-structured interviews of teachers and on the observation of teaching in the classroom as well as of spontaneous communication by students in and outside the classroom.
