Abstract
This is a special monograph length issue of the Chung-Hwa Buddhist Journal on the digitization of texts and manuscripts, and text analysis and mark-up, with Christoph Anderl, Christian Wittern, and Marcus Bingenheimer as guest editors. The approach is interdisciplinary and includes articles on multilingual databases, Norwegian dialects, the analysis of Old Japanese texts, the handling of Chinese characters in a database on Daoist texts, methods of analysis of the Platform Sutra, an analytical database on the Confucius' Analects, a digital dictionary on Buddhism, and Buddhist temple gazetteers. The articles are based on a conference on Digitization and digital resources, taking place at Oslo University in 2009, organized by Christoph Anderl and Christian Wittern.
