An accelerator based tunable gamma-ray source

Abstract
During the last three years we have investigated the possibility of creating a tunable gamma-say source using crystal diffraction of bremsstrahlung produced by electrons from the 15 MeV linear accelerator of the university of Ghent. The source delivers very well-defined monochromatic gamma-ray beams with energies between 80 and 1000 keV. Some applications of the source are described.
