Loquacità gnomica: appunti sulla frottola

Abstract
In the last years the scientific debate over the “frottola” dealt essentially with metrical issues and textual criticism. The critical results of these studies were particularly fruitful. In this contribution I will examine the specific relationship between formal, rhetorical and thematic features of the “frottola”. In particular, I will focus on the gnomic structure and on the links with the satirical tradition and the problematics of incontinentia linguae.
