Abstract
In this article the history of one of the branches of the Bulgakov family is reconstructed on the basis of archival documents. Mikhail Bulgakov's uncle (brother of the famous writer's father) Pyotr Ivanovich Bulgakov, served as an Orthodox priest in Japan and later emigrated to the USA. His sons Konstantin and Nikolai lived with their Kievan relatives for several years and were childhood friends of Mikhail Bulgakov.
