No-fly zone is newspeak

Frank Roels (2011) DEWERELDMORGEN.BE.
abstract
The terminology used for the military intervention by NATO in Lybia, "no-fly zone" and "protecting the population", is hiding deadly destructions on the ground. Military equipment of the Kadaffi army as well as buildings have been destroyed, ignoring the presence of soldiers and civilians. A Vatican spokesman reports at least 40 civilians killed in Tripoli, an MD speaks of hundreds of military casualties. The rebels are not peaceful protesters but well armed and led by a Lybian general who returned from the US after 20 years; they express hope that the NATO bombings will kill thousands of soldiers. Destruction of the societal organisation appears to be the aim. When added to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, Lybia is novel case in The Project for a New American Century, published before 9/11 by well-known neocons.
