Lacan over de psychose : van Verwerfung tot forclusie

- Abstract
- The concept of foreclosure, as articulated by Lacan in his On a question preliminary to any possible Crealment ofpsychosis (1958), indicates that psychosis is a separate psychic structure, radically different from that of neurosis. We re-examine the roots of this concept throughout his earlier work and seminars, and show that it has been deducted from the Freudian notion of Verwerfung. In doing so, we point out the major differences between foreclosure and Verwerfung.
