Laboratory setup for teaching reflection phenomena between a PWM inverter and an induction motor

Abstract
In order to teach students – also visiting students from other institutions of higher education – the behaviour of long cables between a PWM frequency converter and an induction motor, a laboratory setup has been developed. This setup allows the students to measure the effect of a dv/dt filter, a symmetric filter and an asymmetric filter. This setup reduces the workload for the tutors and encourages the students to become independent and critical engineers.
