  abstract     = {{The scarce archaeological information for the excavations of Susa conducted by Jacques de Morgan and Roland de Mecquenem (1897-1939) poses significant challenges to the chronological placement and understanding of many of the artifacts recovered from the site. Until recently, due to the absence of stratigraphic evidence, all artifacts bearing Linear Elamite inscriptions discovered in Susa have been attributed to the period of Puzur-Sušinak, i.e., the second half of the 22nd century bce, or around his time. Nonetheless, it is possible to gain valuable insights and improve the accuracy of the dating of the excavated artifacts at Susa by re-examining the first archaeological reports. 
The present study investigates the archaeological context of six Linear Elamite clay artifacts (texts J, K, L, M, N, and O) that were discovered in Susa during the excavations of Roland de Mecquenem. According to the information provided by the members of the Délégation, it is concluded that five texts (J, K, L, M, and N) are likely to be dated to a time before the reign of Puzur-Sušinak and probably earlier than the Akkadian period. Finally, text O cannot be precisely dated according to the available archaeological information.}},
