- Dit essay bespreekt het oeuvre van de Brusselse ‘kleine meester’ Louis Thevenet (1874-1930), stilleven- en interieurschilder, met aandacht voor de manier waarop hij zijn beelden opbouwt en voor de manier waarop hij, door zijn tekening en kleurgebruik de voorwerpen en inrichting van het huis een vastigheid en, als quasi-tastbaar, werkelijkheidsgehalte geeft. Het essay is verschenen in het boek dat de tentoonstelling begeleidt in Den Ast in Halle in 2024. This essay discusses the oeuvre of the Brussels 'little master' Louis Thevenet (1874-1930), still-life and interior painter, focusing on the way he constructed his images and on the way in which, through his drawing and use of colour, he gave the objects and furnishings of the house a solidity and, if quasi-tangible, reality. The essay appeared in the book accompanying the exhibition at Den Ast in Halle in 2024.
