Inversion-based control of scaled PMSM for battery electric vehicles

Abstract
This paper investigates a scalable control of permanent magnet synchronous machines for battery electric vehicles. The presented methodology aims to use the same control of a reference machine and scale it to test the control of several electrical machines of the same topology in a fast way. In that aim, the Energetic Macroscopic Representation-based scaling laws is used to deduce a scalable control scheme. The scalable control results are compared to those of classical control, in which all the controller parameters need to be redefined and are only valid for one given design of the electrical machine. The simulation results show that the control performance is the same, which proves that the control can be scaled.
