Project: Optimization in connection with the application of extracts of tetrahydroïso alpha acids in the brewery: origin and typing, development of a quantification method, investigation of by products.

abstract
The origin of commercially available extracts of tetrahydroïso alpha acids will be determined by chromatographic techniques and a procedure for typing will be elaborated. Next, the tetrahydroïso alpha acids will be quantified in the extracts using a suitable standard. Furthermore, the presence of by products formed during the production of the extracts of the tetrahydroïso alpha acids, will be evaluated and the by products will be characterized.
