- The characteristics of the electromagnetic interaction are investigated in the energy region of the E1 giant resonance (12-35 MeV), mainly by the experimental study of the photoproton reaction. From the obtained results (differential and cross sections) information is deduced concerning the structure in the cross section (isospin-, deformation- and configuration splitting) and about the decay mechanism of the giant dipole resonance (direct, statistical decay).
