Abstract

The light- and electronmicroscopical morphology as well as some biochemical aspects of mercury intoxication will be studied in cultured invertebrate cells. The effects of HgCl2 and MeHgCl (with their own specific features) will be compared.This includes the comparative study of opstake, storage kinetics and cytopathology for both mercury compounds. The results will give information on toxicology and detoxication of these heavy metals in invertebrate cells.
