Abstract

The first wave of Russian Symbolist poets was occupied rather with aestheticism than with religion. The language and the ideas (on language and on reality) of V. Brjusov, K. Bal'mont, I. Annenskij and F. Sologub will be related genetically and typologically to literary developments in the West. the study will be based on the poetry, the translational activity and the critical position of these poets.
