01-OCT-93 – 31-DEC-99

The corpus of pottery, collected during the excavations at ed-Dur, has been dated to the Ist and 2nd cent. A.D. (Roman-Parthian period), the period in which the site had reached its larges expansion and florenscence, due to its role in the international seatrade in the Lower Gulf. These intens trade contacts are reflected in the ceramics, which contain local Arabian wares and a large quantity of imports from Iraq, Iran, Northeastern Arabia and India as well.
