Project: ANRS 1289 Kesho-Bora - Mombasa site: Impact of HAART during pregnancy and breastfeeding on mother to child transmission of HIV and maternal health

The KEsho Bora study is an international multi-centre study aiming to assess the efficacy and safety of triple-ARV prophylaxis compared with short-course prophylaxis to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV-1. Women with CD4 cell counts between 200 and 500 cell/mm3 are enrolled. In Mombasa, a maximum of 377 women will be enrolled in thes tudy and followed for 1 year postpartum.
