Project: Experimental validation of a slit model applied in a Monte Carlo study of multileaf collimators for radiotherapy

- During the experiment the linear accelerator is temporarily equipped with a steel collimator that features a narrow elongated slit. The resulting dose distribution is measured using i) a diamond detector in a waterphantom and ii) radiochromic film in a polystyrene phantom. By conducting the measurement for various collimator rotation angles, several parameters of the Monte Carlo model can be optimized.
