Project: The use of Xenopus embryos for studying the adhesive and signaling functions of cadherins and catenins.
- project duration
- 01-JAN-01 – 31-DEC-03
- We use transgenic frog embryos as a model system to study the involvement of cadherins/catenins in tumorigenesis. We focus on three aspects. (i) Identification of new target genes for B-catenin signaling. (ii) the involvement of cadherins/catenins in cellular processes implicated in tumorigenesis. (iii) Characterization of regulatory elements in the promoter regions of cadherins/catenins possibly related to tumorigenesis.
