Project: Inhibition of myosin Va melanosome-interacting transcripts as a novel tool in the treatment of skin hyperpigmentation
- project duration

- abstract
- This research focuses on the use of RNAi to silence (transient as well as stable) the expression of myosin Va-specific isoforms in in vitro cultured primary human melanocytes. The effect of silencing on melanosome transport is studied by using different molecular techniques (Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, UV irradiation of melanocytes, …). This research could finally lead to a better and novel treatment for hyperpigmentation of the skin.
