Project: In situ conditioning of dredging species and mineral sludges
- project duration
- 01-OCT-07 – 30-SEP-09
- Dredging species commonly contain an amount of organic material, that -in anaerobic conditions (due to compat storage) - can be biodegraded into biogas. Gas production in stored sediment is pernicious in terms of consolidation rate, final stability and greenhouse gas emissions. The aim of the research project is the finding of techniques to 1) prevent gas accumulation and 2) accelerate consolidation.
