Project: Effect of a GnRH analogue (Maprelin®) on fertility parameters in gilts and sows

Abstract

1800 sows (600/herd), are ad random divided in groups: M-group, F-group and C-group; injected with respectively Maprelin®, Folligon® and Physiological Solution 24h after weaning of 48h after last altrenogest-treatment in gilts. Through the comparison of these groups, the effect is examined on several fertility parameters: weaning-to-estrus interval, estrus duration, pregnancy rate, number of live and stillborn piglets (+ birth weight).
