(i) Develop a methodology and workplan to carry out a desk review and empirical research on the links between transnational organized crime, trafficking persons and smuggling of migrants;
(ii) Draft an analytical note on information currently available including a bibliography;
(iii) develop a list of experts/organizations to be contacted
(iv) Gather input from relevant experts of organizations to be included in the paper; and
(v) Draft a report (minimum 70 pages) including an executive summary) to be distributed at the Crime Congress to be held in Brazil in April 2010;
The report will provide information on existing reports and an analysis of empirical data collected from relevant organizations such as Interpol, Europol, Frontext etc. The report will provide an analysis of the links between transnational organized crime, trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants as well as recommendations to respond as best to these crimes.
