Project: nutrition projects in Africa

Abstract

Potential projects include:

- Projects in West and Eastern Africa under Helen Keller International-IFPRI collaboration on nutrition-sensitive enhanced homestead food production systems (funded by CIDA) in Burkina Faso, Tanzania, Senegal and Côte d'ivoire(specific country and task to be determined once projects plans are better defined)

- Nutrition-sensitive social transfer projects in Mali(one with World Bank; one with WFP); these projects use cash transfers to enhance utilization of preventive health care services and incorporate nutrition intervention packages (in some cases including distribution of microntrient supplements - micronutrient powders or lipid-based nutrition supplements) to the nutritional status of mothers and young children during the first 1.000 days
