Project: Novel mechanisms of live, bacterial vaccines in protection against Salmonella and other food-borne zoonoses.
- project duration
- 01-APR-99 – 31-MAR-02
- The specific objectives of this study are : To study the mechanism whereby colonization of the intestine by large numbers of live, attenuated Salmonella stimulates, in a non-specific way, the immune system of the intestine, enhancing immunity to salmonellosis. To study the initial cellular responses to S. typhimurium and S. enteritidis infection following vaccination in the chicken.
