- The project consists of the development and exploitation of the charge exchange spectroscopy diagnostic at JET, the world’s largest tokamak for studying controlled thermonuclear fusion. The diagnostic measures the temperature and rotation velocity of fully ionised impurity ions in the plasma, important parameters to realise the high temperatures and confinement times that are required for the nuclear fusion reactions.
