Project: Identification of the interface of actin and actin binding proteins using a new set of bifunctional reagents.

project duration
31-DEC-99 – 31-DEC-99
The immediate objectives of this project are twofold. First, to optimize the application of a cleavage reagent and cross linking reagents useful in the identification of protein interfaces. Second, to identify the contact zone between actin and actin binding proteins (ABP's) of the gelsolin group. It is anticipated that the obtained results will allow to extract general topographical information on the actin ABP interface and will provide invaluable information to undertake modelling studies. In their turn, these will lead to new insights into the detailed structural basis for this cell biologically important protein protein interaction.
