The objectives of the project are to build an European food composition databank. Foodcomponents to be included in the EUROFIRdatabank will be identified. Existing food classification systems for use in fooddatabases will be harmonized. Guidelines and procedures for the effective incorporation of industry data in the EUROFIRdatabank will be established and to new data on the nutritional composition of traditional foods for inclusion in national fooddatabases will be provided.
