Project: Synthesis and Application of Nanostructured Tethered Silicates (SANTS)

project duration
01-AUG-06 – 31-JUL-09
To investigate and develop the biotechnological use of silaffin peptides, eg. Silicate precipitating proteins, and their synthetic analogues to increase the stability and activity of immobilised enzymes according to conventional methods for enzyme immobilisation. Self-organized, self-assembled, nanostructured enzyme/silicate matrices will be produced for synthetic chemistry and biocatalytic applications.
