- An in-depth attempt is proposed to understand the excitation mechanism in lasers using computational and Langmuir probe techniques. By solving the Boltzmann equation the electron energy distribution is obtained, and hence excitation efficiency at optimal E/N values. To asses the influence of fluctuations and turbulent flow, probe measurements will be performed on experimental DC and RF excited modules.
