Project: Lost in translation? A multi-methodological research project on same-language film remakes between Flanders and The Netherlands

- Abstract
In recent years, a remarkable Flemish-Dutch remake phenomenon has evolved into a structural characteristic of contemporary film production dynamics in the Low Countries. This project investigates the complex dynamics and dimensions involved in the emerging phenomenon by paying attention to how this process intersects with issues of cultural identity and cultural proximity, in terms of text, production, distribution and reception.
