Project: Experimental and theoretical study of the damage behaviour of fibre-reinforced composite systems under biaxial fatigue loading

abstract
In this project, the damage behaviour of fibre-reinforced plastics, subject to biaxial fatigue loading, is modelled. There is an extensive experimental program in a biaxial test set-up, instrumented with digital image correlation and ultrasonic techniques. Next, damage models are developed that describe the degradation of the elastic properties and the initiation and growth of delaminations in the composite laminate.
