- project duration
- 01-JAN-00 – 31-DEC-03
- The aim of this project is the study of the conspicuous, hypertrofied lower jaw musculature of certain anguiliform species of the catfish family Clariidae. In this study, it is aspired for to find out what the ecological significance is of such gigantic jaw muscles, as well as what spatial constraints occur during the cranial skeleton formation and the hypertrophy of the jaw muscles.
