Project: Experimental study to evaluate the influence of portal vein arterialisation on liver viability and liver regeneration.

2000-01-01 – 2000-12-31

Abstract

Auxiliary transplantation of the liver leads to functional competition between donor and recipient liver: Atrophy of one, regeneration of the other liver. This mechanism can be contra-acted by modification of the graft vascular supply. The aim of the study is to study the time course of the atrophy and regeneration of the graft during a prolonged period after different vascular graft inflow through surgical intervention.
